Meet the Blate

My well-loved version of a plate, designed with a slightly higher rim for added versatility at the table. With a wide, flat base and softly curved edges, it’s ideal for everyday meals where a flat plate just doesn’t cut it. Perfect for everything from saucier dishes to a big Sunday brunch spread.
Each Blate is individually thrown and glazed, so no two are exactly alike. Their shape makes them easy to stack and beautiful to pair with Plowls for a cohesive, layered table.
Plowls and Blates are similar, but their shapes set them apart - Plowls have taller, rounder rims, while Blates have a broader, flatter base with lower edges.

Just as we humans have blemishes, wrinkles & scars it only makes sense that the art created by human hands has blemishes, wrinkles & scars. Or what I like to call "beauty marks"  When buying handmade products there is this understanding. A single ball of clay transformed into functional art-- these pieces were carried with hands from the start. From my mood to the weather to the time of day has an effect on your handmade items. Each piece is made with intention & care. There may be slight variations in shape, size,  glaze and I can't help but think that it's a beautiful thing to be perfectly imperfect.
